BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF Beijing Textile Research Institute

 

The Beijing Textile Research Institute (BTRI) was set up in 1959. At present, the Institute has a working staff of 180, of which 13% are senior engineers and 40% are the middle-level technologists and engineers, moreover, 2 senior engineers are individually honored by the State and Beijing Municipality with the title of experts of making an outstanding contribution. The BTRI, one of the comprehensive textile research institutes , has now 6 research departments such as spinning and weaving department, dyeing and printing department, automation research office, environmental protection department, product-artistic design office and information research center ; and 2 pilot-plants of the special printing and special functional textiles as well as 4 subordinates by the name of The Beijing Quality Inspection Station for Textile Products and Dyeing Assistants, the Beijing Technology Development Center of Textile Measurement, The Medical Textile Materials Experimental Factory and Lanyuan Turfgrass Company of the Beijing Textile Research Institute.

The BRTI has put stress on the development of special printing and dyeing, special finishing as well as the special functional textiles and corresponding technologies; and also extended the other works on the environmental supervision and control; translation service for the technological information; dyes and chemicals application; product-artistic design and technical service and consultant.

In the recent years, the BTRI has completed 10 scientific research items at national or municipal levels. It is more than 40 items that won the international and national high prizes. Among them over 20 items won the National Medal for Invention, the Prizes of Science and Technology Progress awarded by the State, the Textile Ministry and Beijing Municipality, moreover, 18 items won the national patents. The BTRI has extended the application of more than 200 times/items of the scientific research achievements throughout 23 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China.

The main products as follows:

• S-99 Soluble Stanching Gauze has won the National Medal for Invention and the Gold Medal of Brussels Eureka of World Fair for Invention.

• S-100 Absorbable Stanching Satin has won the National Prize of Science and Technology Progress.

• The item of Semi-soft Packing has won the National Medal for Invention.

• The item of Medical Permeable Tape, the Special Emery-washed Fabrics and Special Artistic-dyed Textiles have won the Prizes of Science and Technology Progress awarded by Beijing Municipality.
